Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Needle & Pin
Inconspicuous (to the extent that I walked right past it initially on my first visit 18 months ago) micro-pub in a terrace of shops with the much-more-obvious Swan in The Rushes at the far end. Anyway, once inside, you find four small, tall tables with a single high bench seating along the side wall and the compact bar and a couple of fridges for bottles and cans up a couple of steps. Also has an upstairs room (not visited). With three of the four handpumps in service, the choice was NRB Blonde, BBF's Fortitude and a very tasty Black Grouse from Loch Lomond this time.

Trundles along quite happily. A shame that it doesn’t open until late as that means I can never do more than a swift one in here on a weekday. The Myld Stallyns by Lost Pier Brewing was super (NBSS 4) and I think this is Loughborough’s best pub, despite the Organ’s fanboys. 8.5

Barely looks like a pub from the outside, more like a chippy. Inside is a tidy micro done to a high standard; quarry tile flooring, mauve walls and a bit of exposed brick with some cushioned bench seating. Three cask, my North Riding was poured through by the diligent and friendly barmaid and it was a great drop (NBSS 4). There was also a good selection of cider and overseas bottles. I was the only punter 20 mins after opening at 5pm which was a little concerning. However I really liked this one and it’s the only place in town I’d make an effort to get off the train for next time. Rated 8

I can only echo the positive comments below and completely agree with Mr. Fs view on the Thornbridge/Burning Sky West Coast IPA. Just exceptional.
There are very places that would keep me from a nearby Organ Grinder but this is one of them and Loughborough is lucky to have them both.
